21 Weeks! {'Bump'date}.

First off, thank you ladies for your sweet words on Tuesday in response to my little break-down post. You all managed to make me feel both much calmer and much more prepared  for this nursery decorating project than I thought I was. And you provided some great resources. Good news is: I have chosen some fabric swatches - which are in the mail on their way to me now. I ordered them online - no muss, no fuss. And no chain fabric store malarkey. If these little squares look as good in person as they do online, they will be ordered up quick for some crib bedding and window dressings. One task to check off the list!

As promised, here's another update on the bump...

21 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:   21 weeks, 2 days - officially past the halfway point now!

Baby's Size:   According to Babycenter, baby boy is approximately the length of a carrot. According to our 20 week ultrasound last week, he weighs somewhere around 12 ounces. And according to our ultrasound tech, he is a LONG baby. Looks like I will most definitely be giving birth to a big baby. Grow, baby, grow!

Total Weight Gain:   Up a total of a smidge over the 10 lb mark at my appointment last week. Trying to stay on track for a 25 pound weight gain. We'll see how this goes...

Maternity Clothes?   A few. Most of the slacks I wear to work are maternity pants now, but still wearing some of my normal jeans and cords on the weekends and in the evenings. And of course, nothing is more comfortable than my yoga pants and sweatpants - wish I could wear those to work! Most of the tops I wear are normal, pre-preggo tops, though I have picked up 4-5 maternity ones and have worn them all once or twice. Still planning on waiting for the spring maternity clothes to arrive in stores before I order anything else.

Best Moment This Week:   Receiving the crib for baby boy's room! And ordering his quilt. Things are moving along. Next up: Choosing the paint for the nursery!

Gender:   It's a boy! Still working on his middle name...Promise to share soon:)

Movement:   Feeling some teeny little nudges here and there - it feels kind of like thumping on a cantaloupe from the inside. I learned last week that I have what's called an anterior placenta (the placenta sits in front of the baby, between him and my uterus wall), which makes it harder for me to feel him moving. Hopefully, as he gets bigger, I will be able to feel more.

Food Cravings:   Salt 'n vinegar potato chips - all day long. Cherry limeade (from Sonic). Applesauce. Cranberry juice. Life cereal. French fries. Peanut butter and jelly.

Food Aversions:   Anything coffee scented - gag.

What I Miss:   Coca-Cola. Sleeping through the night. Having the energy to cook scrumptious dinners for my hubs. Having the energy to do anything fun in the evenings - aside from sitting on the couch watching tv or reading.

Sleep?   Sleeping all night has become a thing of the past. Au revoir, my beloved sleep. Hope to see you again one day. Though it may be years in coming.

What I'm Looking Forward To:   Getting the paint picked for the nursery and beginning to clear out the room - which is one of our guest rooms right now - to get this process started. Once it's painted, I plan on ordering some of the other big pieces for the room. As a gift to baby boy, B's dad is having a bookcase made for us. Which is great, since the one we ordered from Target didn't work out. So, we are both excited about that. We sent him a drawing of what we wanted, and I can't wait to see the finished product!

As always, you look fabulous! I hope I look like you when I'm preggers!
At least you have an excuse for not having energy at night time! haha

I love your dress--so so pretty! I have the same situation with my placenta and it really stressed me out about feeling baby movement, but I have still felt tons of movement. I have heard it will make for stronger back labor, but I'm sure that's all relative. I'm excited for you to feel all of the kicks and flutters--it is such a special feeling. :)
