A Birthday and ABU's {Some Friday Confessions}.

*Before we get around to our weekly 'fessin, I just have to take a minute to wish my sweet hubby a very happy birthday! I don't know if you are reading this honey, but if you are, let me just say how blessed I am to know you and to share a life with you. This is the 6th year we will celebrate your birthday together and I wouldn't have it any other way. But, what's even more exciting? Next year there will be three of us celebrating it together! So happy birthday my handsome daddy-to-be! Enjoy your last child-free birthday:)

One of the early events we would celebrate together:
Our first doctor dinner,  circa 2007.  Love him even more now than I did then.
Next on the agenda? A 'fess sesh of course. Be sure to link up with Leslie over at A Blonde Ambition to get some some of your deepest and darkest off your shoulders today.

I Confess...

1.   I am so glad the month of February is here. January just didn't do it for me. Welcome, February!

2.   In celebration of B's birthday, we are heading out to visit the fam over the weekend. We are looking forward to seeing both sets of B's grandparents and his mom and dad over the next couple of days. We haven't seen them since Christmas, so I'm sure they will all be surprised by how much my baby bump has grown.

3.   As stated in the 'bump'date earlier this week, my appetite has begun to increase. Exponentially. I'm a little worried. Mostly because as of late, I can eat a full meal. And still be hungry. Lord help me. I know I've got a growing boy in there, but can we somehow keep my thighs out of this?

4.   Speaking of food, my most random cravings this week? Onion rings. And strawberry banana milkshakes. Random because I don't ever eat onion rings. And I don't like banana flavored anything. Guess my little man has a mind of his own.

5.   The fabric swatches I ordered for the nursery from Carousel Designs are just perfect! Exactly what I hoped for. Can't wait to show you what we are planning to do with them. Here's a sneak peek:

6.   Our kitten decided to scratch the living daylights out of his poor little face this week, resulting in some seriously infected sores. Which required a trip to the vet. Mama wasn't too happy about that unexpected bill. Saving money is so hard when unexpected expenses pop up! Ellie and Aslan: Get it together. We've spent over $200 on the both of you over the last 2 weeks. I love our vet, but don't want to see him again for a while, you hear?

7.   Our best moment this week? Putting the crib up! B and I were so excited to get baby boy's crib out of the box and set it up in what will be the nursery (it is a guest room right now). Here's the proud hubby and his masterpiece:

Mid-crib construction. He is going to be the sweetest, most patient daddy ever.
With the finished product. He's super pleased, if you can't tell.
(And, no, the lime green walls and Marilyn art will not be part of our nursery decor!)
8.   We were also SO thrilled to receive our little man's crib quilt (that I labored over ordering) in the mail this week. It's just as cute as Pottery Barn makes it appear to be online, so that was a relief. I will share a pic of it when I finally reveal baby boy's name...

9.   We are having our taxes done tomorrow, and I may or may not be a little excited about it. Is that sad? I don't want to get my hopes up, but it would sure be nice to have a tidy little refund this year. We have a lot of expenses coming up and this would help relieve some of my financial stress. So, in the words of Flo, the Progressive commercial girl: "Come on big money!" (If you don't know what I'm referencing, sorry. I've seen the commercials too many times).

10.   Am I alone in the fact that I am not excited about the Super Bowl this year? When my beloved Brady was knocked out of the running, any limited amount of zeal I may have had for this event died along with him.

11.   Last night, we went to dinner with a couple of sweet friends for B's birthday. Not only did Tyler and Megan bring B an awesome birthday gift, they also brought baby boy a sweet, sweet gift. How cute is this?

Now baby boy can wear ABU's just like his daddy!
For those of you who may not recognize it, the above is an air force ABU onesie. It is not camo. You ladies know me well enough by now to know that I won't be dressing my infant to look like he's heading out into the woods to shoot some deer. But, I can appreciate dressing my infant to look like his daddy in service to our country! Along with the sweet air force stuff, Tyler and Megan also purchased our little man some precious GA Bulldog merchandise - so he can dress up for football games and cheer on the Dawgs just like his mom and dad.

That's all I've got for today.
What's on your mind this lovely first Friday of February?

So funny that you're craving things you don't eat. I HATE bananas (ask anyone I know...I despise them) and anything flavored like bananas. Lord help me if my kid has those "cravings" for me whenever I get preggers haha.
I love the crib--and your bedroom! :)
I'm also not that excited for the superbowl. I could really care less. I'd rather go to bed early and get a good night's sleep, but that's just me :)

Love the swatches! And your guest room... now you need a lil girl so Marilyn can return! Have a great bday weekend and eat some onion rings for me (I had them at my wedding!).

I love those fabrics! I found my son's at Carousel Designs also, they have a great selection!
I never had the weird cravings though, that's hilarious, he does have a mind of his own :)
And thank you to your husband for serving our country!
