I ended up in a sweater dress with a sash around the middle. And about an hour into my morning, after walking past a mirror in our main office hallway, sent my husband a text that read: "I feel like I'm really starting to stick out now...Like woah, pregnant." To which he responded with a laughing text. Apparently, the bump and I are amusing. It's amazing how the belly seems to just have a life of its own lately. I feel like it literally went from small, cute and unobtrusive to, 'wow, there's a baby in there!' So quickly. As surprising as the changes in my body have been, I can't help but be amazed when I think about what's going on inside the mound. And feel so blessed every time a little nudge catches me right in the ribs. Or, as it was on Saturday night, vibrates through me so quickly, I feel certain our baby is doing the running man inside my uterus.
It's been awhile since I've done a weekend update, so I thought I'd do one today. Our weekends have been pretty low-key as of late, so I haven't felt the need to share too much. We spend most of them running errands, cleaning house and attacking the odd jobs that we just can't make time for during the week. But this past weekend, we were busy, busy, busy - we spent a couple days with family, celebrating B's birthday. On our way to B's grandparents' house on Friday afternoon, we stopped at the outlet stores in the area so that we could visit the Carter's and Oshkosh B'gosh stores. I had gotten an email earlier in the day that said they were doing 40% off the entire store. And, I had a 20% off coupon. How could we resist? We picked up the following items for baby boy:

| And the pants to go with it. Eeek! |

| This little set makes me just long for some little cheeks to squeeze! |

Friday night, we had a low country boil with B's mom, sister and grandparents. It had been a while since I'd had a good ol' fashion low country boil. It was yummy! They decided to do bananas foster for dessert. Not being a big banana fan, I did what any good pregnant woman would do. Asked my hubby to take me to the grocery store. Where I proceeded to buy a pint of this stuff (and eat half of it):
Valerie over at Along the Way with V and J recommended this brand. And she was right. It is delicious. Go get some. They have a bunch of yummy flavors. To die for. Little man and I enjoyed it immensely.
On Saturday, B and I had our taxes done. Which I can't write home about. Nothing exciting to report on that end. We actually ended up with a smaller refund this year than we did last year - despite the fact that I worked for a full year and made more money. Apparently, making more money doesn't mean you will get more back. Oops.
On Saturday night, we had yet another delicious birthday dinner with B's dad and other set of grandparents in celebration of his birthday. We chowed down on some yummy country fried steak, masked potatoes, green beans, and biscuits. Followed by a chocolate birthday cake (and the other half of my pint of gelato). B really got his wish granted this year - days upon days of delicious foods. I'm sure I will be regretting all the good eating at my next weigh in appointment, but that's not for another 3 weeks, so I can't worry about it now.
Yesterday, B and I stayed home from church to get some stuff done around the house. After about 30 loads of laundry, some kitchen scrubbing and a trip to the grocery store, we enjoyed some lunch and then went to visit some friends of ours who just had their little baby boy a few weeks ago. I got to hold and snuggle on his precious little self for quite a while while we were at their house. He was born early, and is only about 7.5 lbs now, so still itty bitty. Probably right around the size our son will be (if not smaller, actually - it's highly likely we will have a little chunk). So it was a good experience for me - I'd completely forgotten what a tiny baby feels like. I can definitely understand how it can be overwhelming for first time moms to be responsible for something so small. I can see myself worrying already trying to figure out how to protect my little man when he arrives.
Last night, B and I dropped down on the sofa with a pizza to watch the game. We didn't hold out for the whole thing - kind of gave up when the lights went out, actually. We did get to see most of the commercials that everyone has been buzzing about (don't care what anyone says - I loved the VW commercial with the Jamaican accents and don't see how it could possibly be offensive) - and saw Beyonce at halftime. We aren't big fans of either team, so it wasn't that important to us to see who won. But, it was nice to finally spend some time together to cap off our weekend after being on the go for the most part.
How was your weekend?

Baby clothes are so cute. I love the button up red shirt that is also a onesie-- too cute.
Sounds like a fun-filled weekend. SUPER cute clothes for the baby!
I liked the VW commercial too. The speech pathologist in me was amazed at how WELL the guy did the accent!
I didn't care who won either but it was fun to watch. OMG _ I so remember that in between regular clothes and maternity and nearly crying every day when it took me like an hour to get dressed. You're so cute though - you're gonna be just fine...even if you were in a paper sack. LOL
Sounds like such a good weekend! I love the baby clothes that you've picked out. It is so easy to go overboard on their clothes--everything is just so darling!
mmm love that gelato! ;)
& Miller has that alligator romper!
