The Name Reveal - 24 Weeks! {'Bump'date}.

I cannot believe that I am 6 months this week! We now have only a little over 100 days to go before we will meet our sweet baby boy. The time is truly flying. Though I feel like I have been pregnant now for a good long while, I know that by the time he arrives, it will seem like no time at all has passed...

The belly has become it's own little shelf now. See for yourself below. Here's the 'bump'date for this week:
24 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:   24 weeks! Six months down, four more to go...

Baby's Size:   According to Babycenter, baby boy weighs a little over a pound and is about a foot long - the length of an ear of corn.

Total Weight Gain:   As of my most recent weigh-in at the OB two weeks ago, I am up a total of 18ish pounds. I won't get an update on this until my next appointment next week...Hoping that the scale hasn't tipped too much more. It looks like I will definitely be surpassing the 25 pound gain I'd hoped for by the time baby boy arrives, but I'd still like to think that I am on track for the recommended 25-35 pound overall gain. That may be wishful thinking, but here's to hoping.

Maternity Clothes?   Yep. Still squeezing into a couple of pairs of stretchier work pants and my two favorite pairs of pre-preggo skinny jeans with the help of a belly band - but mama's going to have do some jean shopping soon. All of my other pants are maternity ones at this point. Still wearing mostly pre-preggo dresses and tops (most of the maternity tops I have purchased are still too big at this point). Bonus? I am definitely becoming the queen of making the most of what I already have through this experience.

Best Moment This Week:   There were several! We were so excited about finding baby boy's dresser at our local antique mill over the weekend. It needs to be painted, but I just know it will be the perfect addition to baby boy's room. We also ordered a super soft white rug for the nursery - which is scheduled to arrive on Friday - and can't wait to see it! My mom got to feel little man moving around in my tummy while she and my dad were visiting last Saturday, so that was definitely a special moment to share with her. And B has gotten to see our boy kicking around in my tummy this week. Which is just so neat. It's hard to believe that the movements we are seeing across my blooming belly is our son bee-bopping around in there. Love it!

Gender:   It's a boy! Caleb Monroe. We finally decided on his middle name.

Movement:  As mentioned above, I been feeling a lot more movement these days. Which I am so thankful for, especially after finding out that I have an anterior placenta - which can make it very difficult to feel anything. He has been a lot more active as of late and I am loving it. I can't tell (yet) exactly what each movement is, but am starting to think my little man is definitely going to be a kicker. Maybe I have a little soccer player in here! His most recent favorite thing seems to be kicking his mama all night long...

Food Cravings:   Dunkin' Donuts munchkins. Potato chips (still). Fruit. Avocado. Starburst jelly beans. Applesauce.

Food Aversions:   Uncooked chicken - gag - which makes it very hard to make dinner. Onion, garlic, caramel and coffee scents.

What I Miss:   Sleeping through the night. Bending over easily. Yoga. Fitting through small spaces - i.e. between clothing racks in certain shops (which I sometimes still attempt to do, before realizing my belly won't fit).

Sleep?  After sleeping a bit better last week, I am back to a 'wake up every hour' trend this week. Caleb has seemed very interested in kicking around actively every night this week - every hour on the hour like clockwork - making it very hard to sleep through the night. I can't complain because I am just so glad to feel my strong little man moving around in there, but I can tell you this: I wouldn't complain if someone offered me a pillow for a nap every day around 4:00. It's been hard keeping my head from hitting my keyboard around that time every afternoon.

What I'm Looking Forward To:   Celebrating our last Valentine's Day as a family of two tomorrow. Starting to dismantle the guest room this weekend for painting (planning to take some 'before' pictures as we do this for some nursery progress posts) . We have our colors picked out and ready to go. I can't wait to share some of our nursery inspirations!

Aww! You're only a few weeks behind me! And don't worry, you can stretch out those prematernity tops for a while now thanks to the styles! I've yet to wear one of the maternity tops I purchased. Now pants...that's a different story! I can still get into my pre-maternity jeans thanks to them being lowrise...but dress pants! Mmm... maternity ones are the way to go!
